Alcohol License Thailand

An alcohol license is required to operate a business in Thailand that sells alcohol (and cigarettes) such as restaurants, hotels, night clubs and karaoke bars.

The Excise Department charges a alcohol license application fee of 2,200 Baht.  

An alcohol license application is submitted to the Excise Department with jurisdiction over the area where the business is located.

An alcohol license is valid for a period of one year and must be renewed each year.

An Education License is required to operate a school in Thailand.

  • If you will be selling alcohol in your restaurant or bar, we can also assist you in applying for the retail license to sell alcoholic beverages.
  • It can be obtained from the Excise office located in the district where you are located within a couple of business days if all documents are in order.
  • However, it should be noted that the location of the restaurant/bar (selling alcohol) should not be in close proximity to a school, temple, hospital, etc., and the officials may request to drop by the premises for an inspection before issuing the alcohol license.

We need the following documents for Alcohol License:

  • Government forms 
  • Company registration documents 
  • Documents from the legal owner of the property authorised director’s 
  • Passport or Thai ID copy.
  • Map of Business.
